Rev. Dr. Heidi Husted Armstrong (Pastor Heidi)

Rev. Dr. Heidi Husted Armstrong (Pastor Heidi)

The Rev. Dr. Heidi Husted Armstrong (Pastor Heidi) serves Seattle First Presbyterian Church as Transitional Pastor.

Pastor Heidi has ministered in West Coast churches for over three decades.  In recent years, Heidi has specialized in interim ministry, helping several congregations navigate what can be both an unsettling time of transition and an exciting time for discernment and mission. She has also served as a retreat speaker, music leader and writer throughout her ministry.

Heidi is convinced that one sure-fire way to know the living God is through reading Scripture in community. Heidi enjoys helping congregations learn how to discern the message of God’s Word together.  “Yep,” Heidi says, “including all ages! And folks with different perspectives…even people who have never read the Bible. The diverse-er the better!”

Heidi is married to Rick, and has three delightful stepsons.  One of her favorite job descriptions is “Grandma” to four granddaughters and two grandsons.

Rev. Jordan Uomoto (Pastor Jordan)

The Rev. Jordan Uomoto (Pastor Jordan) serves Seattle First Presbyterian Church as Transitional Associate Pastor.

From Pastor Jordan:

I’m a home-body.  Ten-toes deep in Seattle, fourth generation in the Central District on my father’s side.  I went to Garfield High School, where I met my wife during a spring musical.  I studied theology at Seattle Pacific University and received my MDiv from Seattle Pacific Seminary.  After graduating I served as the Interim Pastor at Japanese Baptist Church, and then at St Andrew’s Episcopal Church doing Faith Formation.  My wife and I have an elementary-aged son and baby girl.  I love poetry and words, whether that’s reading, writing, or rhyming.  If my health allowed it, I would bboy (breakdance) the rest of my life.  Dancing and movement are such a joy!  I’m passionate about preaching, and love it when the Gospel is really understood as good news!  And I want each member of the Church to experience that they have a purpose and place in Christ’s body, that each one brings something to Jesus’ table.
